Hyundai was just awarded 3 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards fresh off the heels of winning multiple Best Buy Awards from Consumer Guide. “We are thrilled to win three unique Kelley Blue Book Best Buy awards in the eco, car and SUV segments for 2021. Our Kona Electric, new Elantra and significantly enhanced 2021 Santa Fe are breakthrough products and we heartily agree with the editors of KBB.com in their decision to give these standout vehicles one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. We believe these awards clearly reflect our ‘Progress for Humanity’ vision to design and build vehicles that make our customers’ lives better in every way,” said Olabisi Boyle, vice president, Product Planning and Mobility Strategy, Hyundai Motor North America.
Let’s look at how the Santa Fe, Kona Electric and Elantra outclassed the competition.
Hyundai’s relentless pursuit of perfection is evident in the redesigned 2021 Santa Fe. The 2021 Santa Fe received a dramatic overhaul despite being awarded the KBB Best Buy award from last year. Instead of resting on its laurels, Hyundai made an effort to improve on the 2020 design and push it further past the competition. The results? The Santa Fe received another KBB Best Buy Award for the 2021 two-row SUV segment. Beyond its bold redesign, the Santa Fe received top marks for its stylish interior and exterior design, the incredible amounts of technology packed into every trim and its extremely competitive pricing.
Another back to back Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award winner, the Kona Electric continues its winning ways. KBB praised the reliability of the 2021 Kona Electric, its 258 mile range on a single battery combined with a fast charging 240 volt home charger means you’ll never run out of battery, even on busy weekends. Besides the incredible battery life, the Kona will make you forget you’re driving an electric vehicle. Instant acceleration is provided by a jaw dropping 291 lb-ft of torque, while an attractive and sleek design breaks from the usual quirky EV design. Finally, the Kona Electric offers a comparatively inexpensive entry into the electric vehicle segment. Spokane Hyundai currently has a Kona Electric priced at $36,000. When you consider that buying a Kona Electric qualifies you for a full $7,500 federal tax credit, and results in significantly less maintenance and fuel costs the cost savings start to really add up.
When it comes to the compact car segment, there is a new sheriff in town. The Honda Civic was the KBB Best Buy Winner for the past 6 years but was toppled by the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. How did the Elantra accomplish this feat? Similar to the previous award winners, the Elantra received a partial redesign going into 2021 to fill every niche in the subcompact market. The 2021 Elantra is available in three unique versions, The standard FWD sedan offers a compromise between performance and fuel efficiency. For those more concerned with fuel economy, the Elantra Hybrid offers a ludacris 56 MPG for highway driving. Finally, the sporty N-Line is the Elantra for driving enthusiasts, by offering a turbocharged 1.6L engine capable of 201 hp. The tuning, suspension and 6 speed manual or 7 speed automatic dual-clutch transmission give you complete control of the vehicle and is perfect for merging into tight traffic.
